Securities firms can offer financing services to investors.
The FSC has allowed securities firms to extend loans to investors as a new business since July 2006.
Furthermore, the FSC has relaxed the limitation of maximum loan amount to any individual and institutional investors who have qualified securities used as collateral since December 2015, which was capped at NT$1,000 million (for institutional investors). These funds can be further reinvested in the securities market, enhancing market liquidity and thus enabling securities firms’ surplus funds to be more effectively used.
