The Taiwan Stock Exchange continues to promote Taiwan’s capital market overseas and advance international cooperation. In line with the government’s policy to promote the “Asian Asset Management Center,” the Taiwan Stock Exchange is actively strengthening the connection between Taiwan’s capital market and global capital. Following the March investor outreach program in New York, Chairman Sherman Lin led a delegation to London in September. Through various approaches, including arranging one-on-one meetings between companies and institutional investors, holding luncheon presentations, participating in international forums, and visiting major financial institutions, the delegation introduced international investors to the latest developments and investment advantages of Taiwan’s capital market and exchanged views on issues including asset management, financial products, and market mechanisms.

In recent years, driven by growth in AI and semiconductors and supported by a comprehensive technology supply chain, Taiwan’s capital market has continued to expand in both market size and international participation. Foreign investors’ share of TWSE-listed market capitalization increased from 39.56% in 2022 to 48.61% in the second quarter of 2026, approaching half of the market’s total value, reflecting growing international participation in Taiwan’s market. During the London visit, international institutions expressed interest in issues including Taiwan’s technology industry, its capital market, and the development of the Asian Asset Management Center, reflecting Taiwan’s growing importance in global capital markets.

As part of its investor outreach efforts, the TWSE collaborated with SinoPac Securities to arrange meetings between nine Taiwan-listed companies and London-based institutional investors. These meetings provided a direct channel for communication between companies and international investors, helping overseas investors understand the operations and investment potential of Taiwanese companies. A luncheon presentation was also held to share the latest developments, industry strengths, and investment opportunities in Taiwan’s capital market and deepen engagement with international institutional investors.

In line with the policy to promote the Asian Asset Management Center, the TWSE also participated in the “Taiwan Financial Briefing Forum” organized by the Taiwan Academy of Banking and Finance, highlighting Taiwan’s strengths and advantages in developing its asset management industry. The forum attracted more than 50 international financial institutions. Speaking at the forum, Chairman Lin highlighted Taiwan’s strong technology sector, comprehensive supply chains, and the substantial wealth accumulated by Taiwanese households and companies as key foundations for the development of its asset management industry. Brenda Hu, COO of the AAMC Promotion Office, delivered a presentation titled “Capital Market Resilience and Innovation-led Growth,” highlighting Taiwan’s capital market resilience, growth potential, investment opportunities, and international linkages, as well as how Taiwan’s industrial strengths can create opportunities for global investors.

In exchanges with the London Stock Exchange and international index providers, both sides focused on global market systems and trends in financial product development. To address the needs of companies delaying listing and cross-time-zone trading, the UK market is promoting a private securities market, with plans to introduce 23/5 trading for ETP products as a priority, while exploring new market structures such as securities tokenization. Index offerings continue to expand into multi-asset, thematic, and customized strategies, reflecting the increasingly diverse scope of services offered by global capital markets.

Exchanges with several major international asset management institutions showed that, amid market volatility and changing asset allocation needs, investors are placing greater emphasis on diversifying sources of returns and cross-regional allocation. International industry players are also paying attention to the growth of Taiwan’s ETF market and investor demand, and continue to assess product development and cooperation opportunities in the Taiwan market. These exchanges helped the TWSE keep abreast of trends in the global asset management market and gain a deeper understanding of international industry players’ views and needs regarding the Taiwan market.

Overall, through its investor outreach activities, international promotion of the Asian Asset Management Center, and exchanges with major financial institutions, the London visit enhanced international investors’ understanding of Taiwanese companies and Taiwan’s capital market, and also helped the TWSE gain a better understanding of international financial institutions’ views regarding Taiwan’s asset management market and cross-border cooperation. In the future, the TWSE will continue to expand engagement with international market participants and promote relevant cooperation in investor outreach, financial products, and asset management, further deepening links between Taiwan and global capital markets.
