As one of the world’s premier technology events, COMPUTEX 2026 was held under the theme “AI Together,” bringing together technology companies, investors, and media from around the globe to explore the latest developments and opportunities in artificial intelligence (AI). As AI continues to evolve from technological innovation to large-scale commercial deployment, competition is no longer defined solely by breakthroughs from individual companies, but increasingly by the strength and integration of entire ecosystems.
Against this backdrop, the Taiwan Stock Exchange (TWSE) returned to COMPUTEX under the theme “Beyond the Exchange, Behind the World’s AI.” Through international media engagement, corporate dialogues, and industry showcases, the TWSE demonstrated how Taiwan’s AI ecosystem and capital market work hand in hand to support innovation, growth, and global competitiveness.
Building an International Platform to Showcase Taiwan’s AI Ecosystem
During the exhibition, the TWSE established the TWSE Media Lounge at Nangang Exhibition Center, centered around the concept of an “AI Ecosystem.” Through visual displays, the Lounge highlighted the growth momentum of Taiwan’s capital market amid the rise of AI technologies, showcasing key indicators such as market capitalization, the share of technology-related industries in total market value, and Taiwan’s global market ranking.
The Lounge also presented Taiwan’s complete “Ten Core AI Segments,” spanning from chips and AI infrastructure to end-user applications, along with representative listed companies across the ecosystem. This display underscored the critical roles Taiwanese companies play throughout the global AI supply chain and highlighted their competitive advantages on the world stage.
As the AI industry continues to expand rapidly, international attention toward Taiwan’s technology sector has shifted from individual companies to the competitiveness of its broader supply chain ecosystem. Throughout the event, the Media Lounge served as a hub for engagement among domestic and international financial alongside technology media, providing global journalists with deeper insights into Taiwan’s technological strengths, AI ecosystem, and capital market development.
Engaging International Media to Highlight Taiwan's AI Industry and Capital Market
In addition to the TWSE Media Lounge, the TWSE hosted two international media briefings during COMPUTEX, attracting leading global media outlets and bringing together representatives from Alchip Technologies, MSSCORPS, Nanya Technology, Unimicron, Asia Vital Components, Delta Electronics, and Wistron to share how Taiwan's technology companies are capitalizing on opportunities created by the AI revolution.
The morning session focused on Taiwan's semiconductor ecosystem, covering key segments including ASIC design, DRAM, advanced materials analysis, and ABF substrates. The afternoon session highlighted AI infrastructure, featuring discussions on AI servers, thermal management solutions, and power management systems that are enabling the rapid expansion of global AI computing capacity.
In his opening remarks, Sherman Lin, Chairman and CEO of the TWSE, emphasized that Taiwan's pivotal role in the global AI ecosystem is built not only on world-class individual companies, but also on a resilient industrial supply chain supported by a mature and robust capital market. As he noted, "If the global economy was once powered by oil, the next wave of growth will be driven by the technology and AI companies listed on the TWSE." Brenda Hu, TWSE Senior Vice President, then presented an overview of Taiwan's capital market and AI supply chain, noting that "Taiwan's capital market helps transform technological leadership into global competitiveness while fostering a virtuous cycle in which capital, talent, innovation, and investor confidence reinforce one another."
Through direct engagement with international media, participating companies shared not only their technological innovations and global expansion strategies, but also how access to the capital market has supported their long-term growth. Company representatives unanimously acknowledged that Taiwan's capital market has enabled stronger corporate governance, deeper investor engagement, as well as continued investment in R&D and capital expenditures, providing a solid foundation for sustainable growth. They also highlighted the market's role in advancing ESG initiatives and strengthening both international competitiveness and investor confidence.
Integrated Communications to Enhance Global Visibility
To maximize the impact of its participation at COMPUTEX 2026, the TWSE implemented an integrated communications strategy combining both online and offline channels. Offline promotions included advertisements and capital market displays at key locations such as the entrances to the Nangang Exhibition Center, the Media Center, official shuttle buses, and Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport Terminals 1 and 2. Online, the TWSE promoted its event theme and related content through the COMPUTEX website, social media platforms, eDM campaigns, as well as the TWSE's official Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn channels, significantly expanding its reach to global investors, media, and the technology community.
During COMPUTEX, the TWSE Media Lounge welcomed nearly 200 media visitors, including leading international outlets such as Reuters, CNN, Bloomberg, Nikkei Asia, and The New York Times. Related event coverage and news generated more than 2,200 domestic and international media reports and reprints, effectively communicating how Taiwan's AI ecosystem and capital market reinforce one another to drive innovation and long-term growth.
AI Enters a New Stage, Elevating the Role of Capital Markets
One of the defining themes of COMPUTEX 2026 was the evolution of AI from technological breakthroughs to large-scale infrastructure deployment and commercialization. As demand for data centers, AI servers, and supporting infrastructure continues to accelerate, companies require greater access to long-term capital. In this environment, capital markets have become not only a source of financing, but also a critical bridge connecting innovative technologies with global investors.
The rapid expansion of the AI industry has also fueled the continued growth of Taiwan's capital market. In May 2026, Taiwan's total stock market capitalization surpassed US$5 trillion, making it the world's fifth-largest equity market and underscoring international investors' confidence in Taiwan's technology sector and capital market. Today, technology-related industries account for approximately 80% of the market capitalization of TWSE-listed companies, spanning semiconductors, AI servers, high-performance computing, thermal management, power management, and other critical components. Looking ahead, more than 40% of the companies expected to apply for TWSE listing in 2026 are AI supply chain companies, a record high in recent years. This demonstrates that Taiwan's capital market not only provides global investors with access to AI-driven growth opportunities, but also continues to attract high-potential innovative companies, serving as an important platform for industrial upgrading and international capital formation.
Conclusion
COMPUTEX 2026 demonstrated that global AI competition is rapidly evolving from isolated technological breakthroughs to competition among integrated industrial ecosystems. Backed by a comprehensive supply chain, world-class technological capabilities, and a mature capital market, Taiwan continues to strengthen its position as a key player in the global AI landscape.
Looking ahead, the TWSE will continue participating in major international exhibitions and expanding engagement with global investors, technology companies, and international media. By enhancing global understanding of Taiwan's AI ecosystem and capital market, the TWSE will continue leveraging the strength of its capital market platform to support corporate innovation, facilitate international expansion, and help Taiwan seize the next wave of AI-driven growth.
