The 2025 SDGs Asia Exhibition was splendidly held at the Taipei World Trade Center Hall 1 from September 11 to 13. Under the annual theme of “Charge Toward Change,” the event brought together distinguished guests from home and abroad, corporate representatives, and academic experts to explore how innovation can drive society and the environment toward a sustainable future.” This year, the Taiwan Stock Exchange centered on the theme of “Leading Sustainability, Innovating the Future.” It established an exhibition area within the “Sustainable Finance Zone,” showcasing its comprehensive efforts and achievements in advancing sustainable finance through displays and interactive sessions. Moreover, it is actively communicating to the public the critical role and responsibility of capital markets in the transition toward sustainability through concrete actions.
Exhibition Area Highlights ESG Achievements and Sustainability Roadmap
Centered on the theme of “Sustainability Highlights,” it focuses on the three key dimensions of Environment (E), Social (S), and Governance (G). Through visualized information and data, the area showcased the Taiwan Stock Exchange’s efforts to promote sustainable finance. In addition to presenting the accomplishments already disclosed in its Sustainability Report, it also unveiled the “Sustainability Strategy Blueprint,” outlining the long-term direction for future implementation.
Externally, the Exchange focuses on “Building a Sustainable Market” by enhancing information transparency, promoting product innovation, and strengthening investor education, thereby deepening the value of the capital market and aligning with international trends. Internally, it centers on “Fulfilling Sustainability Responsibilities,” embedding corporate social responsibility across corporate governance, talent development, and environmental management. These two pillars work in tandem and have further evolved into six key strategies – information transparency, product diversification, investment education, governance system, talent development, and environmental action – demonstrating the Exchange’s commitment to advancing the sustainable development of Taiwan’s capital market.
Sustainable Finance Classroom: Learning Through Engagement to Enhance Investment Knowledge
One of the most engaging highlights of the exhibition area was the “Sustainable Finance Classroom,” which combined short talks with interactive activities. Each 20-minute session covered a key theme, including:
- The New ESG Infohub Dashboard Functions: Helping investors quickly access corporate ESG performance and understand the importance of information transparency.
- Active ETFs and Balanced Passive ETFs: Explaining the characteristics and applications of these two product types, enabling participants to gain the latest investment knowledge through interaction.
- The ETF Website: Serving as a dedicated ETF investment information platform, helping investors stay informed of market developments and trends.
At the end of each session, a prize quiz was held to make the learning process more enjoyable. Over the three-day exhibition, a total of 27 sessions were conducted, attracting more than 350 participants. Many attendees remarked that they gained a better understanding of ESG concepts and ETF investment knowledge, demonstrating the tangible impact of the classroom on education dissemination.
Multimedia Showcase × Sustainability in Action: Fulfilling TWSE’s Brand Responsibility
To amplify the impact of investor education and promote sustainability, the exhibition area featured a large video wall that continuously played videos on TWSE’s brand image, the Innovation Board, anti-fraud initiatives, and investor education. This multimedia display allowed visitors to have a greater awareness of the Exchange’s multifaceted strategies throughout the exhibition.
In parallel, the Exchange promoted the “My Hong Te” initiative by setting up a zero-waste water data station to encourage the public to reduce plastic consumption by bringing their own bottles and cutting down on single-use plastics. Over the three-day event, this initiative saved more than 230 plastic bottles, resulting in a total carbon reduction of 35.77 kilograms – equivalent to the annual carbon absorption of 1.79 trees. By presenting these results through data, the sustainability impact was made tangible and visible. Some participants remarked that the “My Hong Te” initiative embodied three layers of meaning: it symbolized smooth investment and prosperity, reminded the public to guard against fraud plus protect wealth, and promoted plastic reduction for shared sustainability. This thoughtful approach brings sustainability concepts closer to daily life, leaving a deep impression on participants through interactive engagement and garnering enthusiastic responses.
Conclusion: Advancing Sustainability Through Innovation, Shaping the Future Through Action
Through participation in the SDGs Asia Exhibition, the Taiwan Stock Exchange has put its vision of “Leading Sustainability, Innovating the Future” into practice, presenting both concrete achievements and a long-term blueprint for sustainable development in the capital market. From enhancing transparency through the ESG Infohub, diversifying innovative ETF product choices, and promoting investment education via the ETF Website, to advancing plastic reduction through the “My Hong Te” initiative, the Exchange integrates strategy with action. This comprehensive approach not only demonstrates its sustainability influence but also reaffirms its commitment to leading Taiwan’s capital market toward a resilient and innovative future.
