To meet investors’ global asset allocation needs and strengthen the international connectivity of Taiwan’s capital market, the Financial Supervisory Commission (FSC) and the Taiwan Stock Exchange (TWSE) have been actively promoting a cross-border ETF cooperation mechanism. By establishing a mutual listing framework with overseas exchanges, quality ETF products can be listed across markets, expanding investment choices for investors and helping Taiwan’s asset management industry extend its international reach and visibility.
Through cross-border ETF collaboration, foreign ETFs can be listed in Taiwan, while domestically issued ETFs can be listed abroad. Investors will be able to access global markets through familiar local trading platforms, reducing barriers to entry and improving investment efficiency. This facilitates risk diversification and access to multiple sources of returns, while also enhancing two-way capital flows and deepening market liquidity and scale.
Going forward, the TWSE will continue to enhance the regulatory framework and supervisory cooperation, while promoting partnerships with other international markets. These efforts aim to accelerate Taiwan’s integration into the regional capital market ecosystem and advance toward the goal of becoming a premier asset management center in Asia.
